Weekly study groupThe Ganden Lha Gyema is an important guru yoga practice, emphasized by Gelek Rimpoche as the foundation of all Lamrim practice within Jewel Heart. This practice is an important preliminary to the Vajrayana path. The basis for our studies is the detailed transcript of Gelek Rimpoche's 'The Hundreds of Deities of the Land of Joy'.Please check the course overview for dates and times (in Dutch). Migtsema RetreatAn important preparation for the Vajrayana path is the practice of guru devotion in the form of the Ganden Lha Gyema. Gelek Rimpoche emphasizes that this forms the backbone of our daily meditation practice.Almost every year, all Odyssey, Lamrim and post-Lamrim participants are given the opportunity to get to know the meaning of the practice of the Ganden Lha Gyema. Within the Gelugpa tradiction, the Migtsema mantra is a praise to Lama Je Tsongkhapa, as the embodiment of all enlightened spiritual teachers. The practitioner recites 100,000 Migtsemas, 10,000 of which within a period of one week, embedded in the practice of the Ganden Lha Gyema. Rimpoche made a concession for us Western lay people with our busy lives, and has given us permission to accumulate the required 10,000 Migtsemas over two weekends that are close together. The remainder of the 100,000 mantras will be done within the daily practice of the Gangden Lha Gyema, combined with saying at least 100 Migtsemas. A retreat like this is not only recommended for beginners, but also for those who have done such a retreat before and would enjoy doing it again, as well as people who feel the need for a short retreat. At this time there is no fixed date for the next retreat. Please check the Jewel Heart site regularly for more information or contact the office. |
