| The Three Principles |
|
Year Curriculum Tibetan Buddhism This one-year study and meditation program is a solid foundation for spiritual development in the Buddhist tradition. The course is based on Gelek Rimpoche's explanation and commentary on Lama Je Tsongkhapa 's 'Three Principles of the Path to Enlightenment', demonstrating his profound insight into our Western way of life. It offers a condensed summary of the entire Buddhist path. It encompasses major themes from Tibetan Buddhism including the opportunities of our human life, the role of death in our lives, karma and mental patterns, the four noble truths, liberation or enlightenment, altruism and a perception of reality that will make us truly free. Each theme is introduced, discussed and deepened through meditation. The focus of this course lies on practice: integrating Buddhist values into our own daily lives. By using the Buddhist perspective as a mirror for our own experiences, we will understand ourselves better; this will help us in our personal and spiritual development. No previous experience with Buddhism or meditation is required nor does previous education play a role. Please check the course overview for dates and times (in Dutch). |
