Introduction to Buddhism

'The Eyes of the Buddha', the Buddhist perspective

Buddhism is not considered a religion, but rather a philosophy that may be helpful in dealing with life's recurring problems.

A series of eight sessions based on Gelek Rimpoche's book 'Good life, Good death'. This course offers a simple and practical introduction to the main themes of Tibetan Buddhism like the nature of life and death, dealing with suffering and negativity, the law of causality, the difference between attachment and love, etc.

The author of the book is Gelek Rimpoche, 'founder' and teacher of Jewel Heart. He is one of the last generation of Buddhist scholars and teachers to be born and fully educated in Tibet. Gelek Rimpoche is well-known for his ability to bring the essence of Buddha's experience and teachings to life. In this book he talks about his own experiences with life and death, and discusses the insights that have been developed and tested in the course of the past 2,500 years.
