The name Jewel Heart was chosen because heart stands for the loving warmth that every individual needs to be able to exist and jewel refers to the pure inner being of every person. By accepting that our lives are highly precious and by developing our qualities, our inner peace will increase and our actions will be marked by the loving care for others. This is what the work of our institute is devoted to.

The Jewel Heart logo is made up of three parts: the turning jewel wheel, the lotus and the flame.

The wheel stands for the three jewels: Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. Buddha represents our potential for enlightenment. Dharma is the spiritual development within every one of us. Sangha is the community of those who have accomplished wisdom and act as our guides.

The lotus grows from the mud but nevertheless remains pure itself. Similarly, we have the capacity to rise above our usual selves and enrich our actions with love and compassion.

The flame represents the fire of wisdom, that consumes all obstacles and provides us with insight.
